Council strategy to help carers
Angus Council Social Work and Health committee has approved a three-year strategy to support the growing number of carers in Angus.
At their meeting on Thursday, February 21, the committee agreed key priorities in the plan which will see carers helped to have a life outside caring, to improve their own health and well-being. Their needs will be recognised, respected and supported, and particular attention will be given to the requirements of young carers.
The new strategy builds on the Angus Carers Strategy 2009-12 which gave a framework to plan and develop services to support carers.
The committee approved the commitments set out in the Angus Carers Strategy 2013-16 and agreed to seek updates on the implementation of these commitments.
