Hopes that SNP opposition will co-operate

Sir, Now that Angus Council has a new administration I wanted to put on record my congratulations to the new Provost, Council leader, Depute Leader and other members of the new make up and to wish them well for the next four years.

I know from talking to Angus residents over the last few years that there was a feeling that the SNP had come to take Angus for granted locally and that a fresh start and some new ideas would be in the best interests of the county.

Angus people want to see a Council that keeps its feet on the ground and addresses the real concerns people have and delivers first class local services. Local people are more interested in seeing rural roads properly gritted in the winter than SNP Councillors going on tours of China.

In the spirit of co-operation that the new Nationalist Holyrood government has called for at Scottish level, I hope that the SNP opposition in Angus will seek to work positively and constructively with the new administration in the interests of the people of Angus.

Yours etc,

Marcus Booth,

Rossie Mills,

Montrose.
