Business plans under consideration

Plans to bring a new company to Brechin’s business park look set to take another step forward.

Angus Council’s development standards committee was set to meet yesterday (Tuesday) to discuss the planning application for Continental Alloys, who hope to open a new premises on plot 17 at the business park. It has been recommend to the committee that the application is approved, subject to conditions.

The conditions relate to requirements in planning legislation and road safety requirements during development.

The plans would see a proposed engineering work shop and external storage built on the site, which could generate 14 jobs. It is thought that five further employees could be added per year in the short to medium term.

A letter of support has already been received for the proposals, welcoming additional business to the business park.
