Pupils get to try their hand at air raid siren

Pupils at Stracathro Primary School have been learning about the Home Front and recently have brought a variety of facts to school.

Four primary schools, Maisondieu, Andover, Stracathro and Edzell attended a tennis coaching morning at Montrose Tennis Club on Tuesday. The kids are pictured at their break with the instructors.

Brechin youngsters could get a visit from a leading children’s author if their school takes part in the country’s biggest book swap.

Andover Primary school pupils, teachers and around 50 parents donned their walking shoes on Friday, April 26, when they took part in their annual sponsored walk around Brechin

A group of young people and their teachers Morven Cunningham and Jane Gregory from Brechin High School worked with the Brechin Fair Trade group to enable Brechins application as a Fair Trade City to be renewed. The Provost of Angus, Helen Oswald, presented the certificate. Morven Cunningham (pictured seated left) accepted it on behalf of representatives of the school and the Fair Trade group on Tuesday (May 7) at Brechin Town House Museum.

Brechin regain Fair Trade status

Pupils and staff from Brechin High School joined members of the Brechin Fair Trade Group at Brechin Town House Museum on Tuesday, May 7, to accept an award from the Provost of Angus, Helen Oswald.

Returning to school after 50 years

Lathallan School welcomed 50 guests back to the school for a 50th anniversary dinner to celebrate 50 years since leaving the school on Saturday, April 27.

YounG people from Scotland will be better equipped to find work thanks to an new qualification for 16 to 19 year-olds.

Pupils learn of every day dangers

ANGUS youngsters are receiving hands on experience in dealing with emergencies at the Jock Neish Centre in The 10 and 11 year-olds are learning practical ways to deal with everyday dangers at the Safe Angus event, which is run by Angus Council, and supported by Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue, and other community planning partners.

Pupils to debate referendum

Secondary school pupils in Angus will be given the chance to debate the big issues in the build up to the Scottish Referendum in 2014.

Trip to the farm

Children from the Scallywags toddler group went on a trip to Murton Farm on April 11. The children are pictured at the start of their trip.

Maisondieu Senior Choir put on a mini concert to members of the Acorn Club who meet at the Damacre Centre. The Choir recently took part in the Arbroath Music Festival and came 3rd. Pictured are the choir with some of the ladies who attend the Acorn Club.
