Brechin’s Maisondieu Primary School recently held its annual Scottish poetry recital competition.

The overall winners of the competition were Aimee Mackie, who won the primary three to five group, and Mathew Crabb, who was the overall winner for the primary six to seven group.

The full list of winners and runner-ups is as follows: -

Primary 3M - winner, Sam Kingdon; runner-up, Sam McLean.

Primary 3S - winner, Connor Hutcheon; runner-up, Julia Wykusz.

Primary 4C - winner, Ewan Murray; runner-up, Erin Whyte.

Primary 4H - winner, Abbie Reid; runner-up, Iris Calderwood.

Primary 5C - winner, Alix Morland; runner-up, Courtney Sutherland.

Primary 5Y - winner, Aimee Mackie; joint runner-ups, Erin Hoggins; Rachel Scorgie.

Primary 6S - winner, Iona Benvie; runner-up, Hayley Sutherland.

Primary 6M - winner, Calum Milne; runner up, Rory Hurst.

Primary 7K - winner, Dawson Sawyer; runner-up, Courtney McLean.
