Pupils to lead church service

Brechin High School Head Boy and Head Girl team, along with Abbie Airth and Emily Mathieson will be leading a church service in Brechin Cathedral on Sunday, March 17 at 10.30 a.m.

The focus of the service will be on diversity and will include a presentation by Abbie and Emily on their personal reflection about their visit to Auschwitz.

In September 2012, Abbie Airth and Emily Mathieson took part in the annual trip to Auschwitz, organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust.

Part of the commitment to taking part in the programme is the pupils who attend agree to share their story with their peers in school and the local community. Abbie and Emily have already given a presentation at our school Remembrance Day event on November 9, 2012.

They also gave presentations at house assemblies in January and held a candle-lit event to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

Parents and carers are invited to come along and support them at the church service.
