Students win through to national final
Angus College hairdressing students who took part in the Scottish East Area Final of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists UK Trainee Competition with those going through to the nation final pictured with their medals and certificates.
A RECORD number of Angus College hairdressing students have won their way through to the national final of a prestigious competition.
The students competed in the Scottish East Area final of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists UK Trainee Competition and seven of them came away victorious!
Morganne Cameron won first place in the Ladies’ Evening Style while Bethany Duncan took third place.
Susi Price won second place in the Avant Garde section.
Hannah Reynolds and Vanessa Campbell came in second and third place respectively in the Gents’ Cut and Finish.
Laura Skelligan brought home third place in the Ladies’ Cut and Blow Dry.
Lucy Mackie was third in the Ladies’ Blow Dry.
Lecturer, Debbie Donaldson, said: “What a way to go!
“We’re all thrilled as the girls have worked so hard and they really did us proud!”
All students who were placed in first, second or third place were presented with a medal and certificate.
The girls have now gained places in the national final at the Blackpool Winter Gardens in March.
There they will compete with trainees from six other regions to have the chance to win £100 for coming first, £50 for coming in second and £30 for coming in third as well as a medal and certificate.
