LORI AND RULE OF THREE RETURN TO MONTROSE FOLK CLUB

AFTER a summer break, the new season at Montrose Folk Club will commence in the usual venue of the Links Hotel, Mid Links, Montrose next Tuesday (August 19) when the guests will be Lori Watson of The Rule of Three.
This will be a second appearance at Montrose Folk Club by the group.
They are an exciting young band which celebrates the best of Scottish music combined with their own contemporary sounds.
Singer and fiddler Lori is joined by Fiona Young on piano-accordion, and her brother Innes Watson on guitar to form a dynamic musical trio.
The band offer a fresh approach to some of the best music which the Heritage of Scotland has to offer, alongside Lori Watson's own wonderful compositions.
Having won a Danny Award at the Celtic Connections 2005 Festival, Lori Watson and The Rule of Three is a band which will have your feet stomping one minute, whilst playing the next with heart and emotion which leaves the audience feeling spiritually uplifted.
Currently a PhD student at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Lori grew up in the Scottish Borders playing traditional music from a young age.
A finalist in the BBC Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition for 2002 and 2003, Lori has performed extensively throughout Britain and Europe.
Her appearances with The Unusual Suspects and Scottish Women have established the reputation of Lori as one of the leading traditional musicians of her generation.
She is also the leader of the Borders Young Fiddlers Group, which has performed to great acclaim at many Folk Festivals over the past year.
Lori Watson and the Rule of Three have recently released on the Isles Music Label their second album, which features songs and tunes from Scotland, Europe and the pen of Lori herself.
Everyone is welcome at Montrose Folk Club next Tuesday to hear some of the rising stars of the Scottish music scene.
Lori Watson and The Rule of Three will be on stage at 8 p.m. with the doors at the Links Hotel open at 7.30 p.m.
Admission is payable at the door.
