SHARKY'S Bar in Montrose will play host to some of the best rhythm and blues in Scotland when it welcomes The Five Aces on Friday.
The group previously played at a packed-out Sharky's in May during the first ever Montrose Music Festival.
Their 50s look, coupled with an upbeat tempo and exciting live act, made them one of the 'must see' acts and were one of the undoubted high
lights of this summer's event.
The five-piece band play music mostly from the 1950s and 60s, when traditional rhythm and blues was in its prime and when rock 'n' roll was at its liveliest.
Generally, you'll find them playing an up-tempo selection of their own songs, classic R&B tunes or covers of chart-topping tracks in their own unique sound.
Based in Glasgow, the group regularly play gigs the length and breadth of the country, but their reputation for putting on unforgettable performances means they will tour Germany, Spain and Holland later this year.
BBC Radio 2 DJ Mark Lamarr described them as a mix between the Small Faces and the Poets, jamming with Chuck Berry and John Lee Hooker, a description that isn't too wide off the mark and one the band themselves are quite proud of.
The Five Aces play Sharky's on Friday at 9pm. Tickets for the event are limited, with just 100 on general sale and available on a first-come first-served basis. However, those that don't get tickets can still watch the gig downstairs in the pub, where the video screens will show live footage of the group.
To buy your ticket, drop in to Sharky's Bar at 21 George Street, Montrose. For more information, phone the bar on (01674) 677375.
