£100 donation to Macmillan nurses

Menmuir wri president Frances Smith opened the latest meeting of the group and greeted all the members and guests present congratulating everyone on their success in Federation Show.'She then gave a warm welcome to Maureen Phillips of McMillan Nurses and presented her with a cheque for �100.'The money was raised at the Bring and Buy stall held last month.'Speaker of the month was Wendy Chaplin. Wendy is passionate about her hobby - knitting - running two knitting clubs in Brechin and Edzell.'She gave a talk on a role of knitting in her life and demonstrated a bright spectrum of goods knitted by herself and members of her knitting clubs. Sheila McIntosh proposed thanks.'Competition winners of the month were:- a knitted flower: 1, Margaret Dayman; 2, Frances Smith; 3, Wilma Warden.
