Football: Second division champions Brechin City have signed Ken Eadie, a striker, released by Kilmarnock. Eadie (22) was signed for a nominal sum and will join the rest of Ian Fleming’s small squad for the start of training at the end of this month. “We may not be the best team in the league, but we will be the fittest,” said Mr Fleming. He hopes to have signed a couple more players before the season begins.
Golf: Mrs Elizabeth Wilson, Montrose Royal Albert, won the silver division, scratch section, of the Brechin Ladies’ open on Saturday. The bronze scratch went to Mrs Moira Smith, North Links Ladies.
