Cricket: Brechin V Gordonians.
In this Strathmore Union game at Guthrie Park on August 13, Brechin were all out for 86 in 41 overs. Frank Robertson took six wickets for 36 in 15 overs. Top scorer was J. W. Morton with 20 runs.
Colin Johnston launched a furious assault on the home bowlers and he and Ian Pithie made the match safe for Ian Campbell to go in and with the winning runs after 20 overs. Gordonians won by eight wickets.

City’s first league match of the season ended in a one all draw, with the result drawing wrath from manager Ian Fleming who had been hoping for better things from the team after their bright appearances in their four pre-season games.
