Brechin’s very own rock group, Ironic Voice, have re-formed. The group enjoyed success playing around the Brechin area two year previous to their splitting.
The group composes of John Haig (lead vocals), Duncan Petrie (guitar), Neil Sims (drums), Alan Finne (bass) and John Hendrew (lead guitar), with appearances from Peter Drahony (vocals) and David Beattie (bass).

Brechin, entering the Britain in Bloom contest (Scottish section) for the first time this year, was much gratified to be awarded a Highly Commended certificate.
Edzell, with a notable record of successes in past years, was this year adjudged to be the best large village in East Scotland and then the best large village in Scotland.
