Brechin High School captains, John Hood and Caroline Sim, last Tuesday presented a cheque for £103 to Mrs Irene Taylor for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. The money came from a school disco. In looking for a deserving charity to which the money could be donated, the school prefects remembered the recent one day effort for the fund, largely organised by Mrs Taylor that brought in over £2000.

David dewar of Brechin and Richard Tulloch of Edzell were two disabled riders who received their first (Grade 1) certificates of Proficiency from the Riding for the Disabled Association on September 17. The awards were presented by Countess of Strathmore at Glamis Castle, during the annual outing of the Angus Riding for the Disable .
