Brechin High School plans to celebrate its 555th anniversary next year. One of the big events will be a formal dinner with a number of prominent speakers to be held in the School on Saturday, September 29.

Over £7,800 was raised by the North-East Angus Scanner Appeal Fund. The bulk of the money was used to buy a foetal scanner for the Fyfe-Jamieson Maternity Home, Forfar. The extra £1,300 will be used for another suitable project.

Inverersk Community Council has a membership of 21 but only seven people have been nominated for places. However, Mr Alec de Costa, Edzell, who has been re-appointed chairman, expects a sufficient number of people can be co-opted to bring the council up to near full strength.
