“Take your litter home” signs could replace littler bins in favourite picnic places in out-lying areas of Angus District, Inveresk Community Council have been told. They had written to the district’s environmental health department about what they claimed was the unsatisfactory clearance of the litter bins on Edzell Muir. The council also wanted the bins covered to prevent the rubbish being scattered by birds.

Edzell Village Improvement Society has taken the initiative in organising a petition with the aim of keeping the Inglis Memorial Hall open.
The hall is said to be costing Angus District Council £14,000 a year, but it is the only hall in the village and has been the centre of social activities for nearly a century.
