Sunday was a great day for members of the Scots Guards Association when the Queen Mother attended their invitation rally at Glamis Castle and spoke to former members of the regiment, their wives and family. The Queen Mother lunched at the castle with Lord and Lady Strathmore. Guests included Lord Southesk, who served in the regiment as a Major, and Lord Dalhousie. It was a wonderful moment for William Harrison, Montrose (he belongs to Brechin) and his wife Margaret when the Queen Mother stopped at his wheelchair to speak to him.

Mr John MacKay MP, minister for health and social work at the Scottish Office, will visit hospitals in the Dundee and Brechin area this week.
