Edzell has again won the Scotsman Trophy as the winning village in Scotland in the ‘Britain in Bloom 1973’ contest and now goes forward to the national final. A special judging panel appointed by the British Tourist Authority will visit Edzell at the beginning of September.

The most recent addition to the Glenesk Museum is a display entitled ‘The minerals of Glenesk.’ It is a result of collaboration between Dr Charles Waterson, keeper of the geological section of the Royal Scottish Museum, the council of museums and galleries, and Miss Michie, curator of the Glenesk Museum and is likely to prove of great interest to visitors.
