Brechin City Band embark on their great adventure at the end of next week. They are due at Fulham Town Hall on October 6 to compete in their section of the British Amateur Brass Band Association championships. The good wishes of the whole community will go with them on their journey south.

A piece of “invisible mending” costing almost £9,000 is nearing completion on the historic Bridge of Dun. It is the first remedial work for a long time. The scheme has been undertaken jointly by the County Roads Department and the County Architect’s Department and has consisted of repairs to the bridge, which is listed as an ancient monument. The bridge was completed in 1787 and its interest is mainly architectural.
