For the first time in over 50 years the Grand Master Mason is to pay an official visit to the Provincial Lodge of Forfarshire. David Liddell-Grainger, who holds the office of Grand Master, will be in Brechin this weekend, and will visit various lodges in town and county.

Edzell, which went forward as Scottish winner of the British Tourist Authority’s ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition (Village Section) to the national final, was commended and John Craig, chairman of Edzell Village Improvement Society, was presented with a certificate. The judges commented community spirit and enthusiasm were evident. The standard of planting in private gardens was high but more support was needed from the commercial section.
