At the first annual general meeting of the City of Brechin Civic Trust last Wednesday, Dr Eric G. Jenner was re-appointed chairman. Dr Jenner suggested the Trust offer a prize of £100 in a competition for a design for the city centre improvement scheme. To commemorate the Royal wedding solemnised that day the chairman also proposed that they purchase two trees, one for Princess Anne and one for Captain Mark Phillip to be placed at the city centre. This was warmly agreed. A site will be chosen when the winning design for the city centre has been selected.

Angus Education committee has agreed that Aldbar School, closed in July as a school, be let to Aldbar WRI for its meetings.
