Golf: Sixteen year old Billy Taylor, whose parents are stewards at Brechin Golf Club, has won the championship of both the Brechin and Edzell Gannochy Golf Club - the youngest player ever to do so. A pupil of the High School, Billy started to play golf when he was 12 and now plays off a handicap of one. He has represented both boy’s and men’s teams for Angus and won numerous awards.
Curling: Catterthun Curling Club won the points competition held by North and South Esk Province last week. Joint winners of the individual event, both with 32 points, were W. Crighton, Catterthun, and L. Wood, Southesk. Catterthun won the club event with a total of 111 points, 16 more than Dun who were second.
