An appeal for help in visiting Brechin old folk and those who are house-bound has been made by Hospitalmaster Miss A. C. Aiken. Miss Aiken, in conjunction with Mrs D. B. Thoms, WRVS Organiser, has formed the town’s first visiting committee, which already has 12 women visiting 30 old people. While there are 30 people on the visiting list at present, Miss Aiken expects this number too increase. Help is urgently required.

As a result of last week’s ‘Help the Aged’ appeal, 239 sacks of blankets and clothing were collected throughout Angus, which Mr Mackenzie, Carnoustie, the county organiser, describes as very creditable.
The contribution from Brechin and district was 48 sacks.
