Sergeant B. Gellatly, Brechin ATC, won a £5 prize in the car competition held in connection with the Battle of Britain display at RAF Leuchars. The competition was to estimate how far the car, a Ford Capri 1600 GT, would travel on one gallon of fuel on moving rollers at a constant 50 mph.

It was reported at the Town Council meeting that the property at 24 Church Street had been offered for sale to the council. The property, which dates back to the 17th century, must be the oldest house in Brechin. A number of years ago, it was restored and modernised inside. It has since been a doctors’ surgery with dwellinghouse above. Now that the Health Centre is in operation at the infirmary, it is no long required for this purpose.
