Angus County Council last week voted in favour of setting up a 10 m.p.h. speed limit on the Upper North Water Bridge between Angus and Kincardineshire. The bridge, which has been the scene of dozens of accidents, is on the main Brechin to Aberdeen road. Kincardineshire County Council, which shares responsibility for the Bridge with Angus, favours traffic lights.

The weather remained fair over Taranty-tide but on Wednesday the haar cut down the expected crowd. Still, there had been several thousand to sample as many as possible of the shows, of which there were considerably more than last year. There were about a 1,000 cars parked on the Muir.
