Police Inspector William McKie, Arbroath (and formerly of Brechin), who has been twice runner-up, has again qualified for the final stages of the Scottish police singles bowling championship.

VIcs play Dundee St Joseph’s in a friendly at nursery Park on Saturday, when they will field a few new players. In a recent game at Dundee the pair drew 5-5. Vics have signed former Roselea and Forfar Celtic centre forward Nicky Cowieson.

A softish wicket of great assistance to the Brechin bowlers together with heavy atmosphere in which the ball swung about a lot proved too much for the Dundee High School batsmen. The Brechin batting did not falter and with Howie again showing good form, Brechin’s winning result was not in doubt.
