The head gamekeeper at Kinnaird Castle, Mr Donald Ferguson won the Southesk Trophy for most points in the flower and vegetable section in the Farnell Flower Show on Saturday. 
He also won the special prize for the most outstanding exhibit in the flower and vegetable section, with two fuschias.

Despite poor weather, shooting parties in the glen have enjoyed good spirt. 
Grouse are plentiful, and results have been very good. A coffee evening and bring-and-buy sale followed by a dance, held by Glenesk Woman’s Guild, raised £55 10s in aid of church funds. Dance music was by Cowie’s Band.
