By a majority last Monday, after two nights of discussion, the Town Council agreed to approve, in principle, the erection of the new High school at the banks of Brechin, which the County Education Property Sub-Committee had put forward (following objections by the Inspectorate of the Scottish Education Department to the proposed site at the Wards of Pitforthie.)

Angus General Hospitals Board of management discussed the problem of geriatric accommodation. Dr C. Cohen, consultant in geriatrics at Stracathro referred to improvements in wards causing a total loss of 20 beds. The Board agreed to recommend the provision of another geriatric ward for a temporary period.
