The Earl of Dalhousie has been nominated Knight President of the Honourable Society of Knights of the Round Table. He will be invested today in succession to Lord Sempill. The Society was founded in 1720 and is devoted to charitable works and the perpetuation of the name and fame of Arthur, King of Britain, and his principals.

The annual bridge and whist drive organised by the Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild once again proved a great success, the proceeds reaching last year’s total of £186. A number of people unable to be present sent donations. Mrs Kennedy, Guild president, revealed that Brechin had received a special mention at the RNLI annual general meeting in Edinburgh for their new record last year of £639.
