Angus general hospitals board has approved the plans for the proposed psychiatric unit at Stracathro Hospital. These were first examined by a committee who felt the views of the consultant psychiatrist to be appointed should be obtained. A regional board letter was quoted which pointed out the plans were based on a standard design and could not be modified for one particular individual.

Angus town and County Planning Committee, by eight votes to four, refused an application from Brechin Town Council to use ground at Bearehill for housing development. It was stated that this was one of the nicest parts of Brechin. It was good agricultural land but also by permitting building there amenities would be spoiled.
