A plea for a more colourful, modern police uniform is made in the “Police Review.” Noting that the last change was the introduction of collar and tie in 1947, an article says “perhaps the time is ripe for another breakthrough. Must it be blue for ever and a day? Need it be blue for every rank? Is blue really more serviceable and practical than any one of a variety of colours?
“Must the tunic always be the same colour? Must the trousers continue to be baggy and bell-bottomed?”

The recommendation of Angus General Hospitals Board of Management that Edzell Convalescent Home be closed as soon as convenient, because of staffing difficulties, has been accepted by the Eastern Regional Hospital Board.
