The closing of Careston Smiddy means that two of Mr Gray’s customers, the horses which draw Messrs Muir, Son and Patton’s coal carts, will now have to go to Farnell Smithy for their shoes.

At the annual general meeting of Brechin Bowling Club the following were elected to office: president, A.M. Fraser; vice-president, T. Binny; secretary, Geo. T. Low; treasurer, W. Fox; curator, W. Sim. Committee - Messrs W. Raitt, H. Wallace, J. Clark, E. Lyons and C. Barclay.

Mr W. Soutar and Mr R. McGarrie, Brechin, were prize-winners for British Birds at Elgin Cage Bird Society’s annual show, and C. Longmuir for Border.

The total invested in national savings in Brechin for the week ended 14th November was £8,891.
