Members of Brechin Acorn Club enjoyed a varied programme during October.
President Anne Mitchell welcomed Alan Gordon from ‘Action on Hearing Loss’, who presented an interesting and informative talk. Evelyn Simpson gave the vote of thanks.
Members visited Castleton Farm near Laurencekirk, where they were given a talk on the history of Castleton. It is a family run business producing tasty strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and cherries.
Harry Davey, a volunteer with Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, also visited the club. He spoke about the organisation, which started in 2013. They work in conjunction with the two government funded air ambulances. They rely heavily on donations from business people and of course the public to keep things going.
Pat Duncan and her husband John, volunteers with ‘The Mercy Ships’, discussed their shared experiences at the most recent meeting. Pat certainly put everyone present at ease and delivered a most informative and interesting talk and short video show. Pauline Kettlewell gave the vote of thanks.
