The “summer” weather may have taken its toll on local gardens, but members of Brechin Horticultural Society are gearing up once again for their annual show.

The show, which takes place in the City Hall from 2pm to 6pm on Friday, September 7 and 10am to 5pm on Saturday, September 8, will see the fruits of months of labour on display in the usual sections of plants, cut flowers, vegetables, floral art, children’s sections, baking, preserves and handicrafts.

David Dyker, secretary of the society said: “We have increased the number of novice classes this year to hopefully encourage new exhibitors and schedules for the show are still available from the secretary for those who wish to enter.”

The Society is also appealing for volunteers willing to help with the set up and dismantling of the display tables and also with the general running of the show.

Raffle prize donations are also most welcome.

If you would like to volunteer during the event or would like a copy of the show schedule contact David Dyker on 01356 622503 or email brechinhs@yahoo.co.uk.
