ARE you aged between 12-19 and interested in playing or writing music?

A unique opportunity to compose and perform your own music is on offer in a week’s workshop with professional and accomplished artists next month.

The Angus Band Slam will run from Monday, July 9 to Friday, July 13 when you can explore your musical ability through a fun and memorable experience. All abilities are welcome.

Angus Band Slam is supported by Forfar Area Partnership under their Friday Night Project at the instigation of local schoolboy Brodie McCash to give teenagers free instrumental and songwriting tuition. The tutors are Eddie Cairney on piano, Andy Shanks and Darren Gair on guitar and Brodie on drums, with help from Jerry Randalls, music coordinator for Angus Council.

The rehearsal venue is the Pitstop in Forfar from Monday to Thursday with the final practice concert venue the Reid Hall on Friday, July 13, with a performance in the Reid Hall on the Friday from 6.00 to 9.00pm.
