Help needed to organise 2014 Pageant

Could we see the return of a climbing wall at future pageants?

Could we see the return of a climbing wall at future pageants?

FOR DECADES the Brechin Pageant has taken place each summer, but this year will be an exception following the decision to postpone the Pageant for a year.

The Pageant, which has traditionally been organised by the Brechin and District Round Table, has undergone a number of changes in location and format over the course of the years and is set to return in 2014 with a Commonwealth Games themed event - with help required from groups within the area.

“Over the past few years membership of the Round Table has fallen to a level where we feel we are no longer able to organise the kind of Pageant that we at the Round Table feel the City deserves,” explained Round Table’s Mark Reynolds.

“To help reinvigorate the Pageant the Round Table has joined together with other community groups to organise future Pageants.

“We would like to take this opportunity to invite other groups and organisations in Brechin and surrounding area to express interest in helping organise the Pageant in 2014. We will be holding a meeting on February 25 (Monday) to put together a plan for the 2014 Pageant.

“If you are interested in any way, not matter how small, in bringing the Pageant to Brechin in 2014 please send an email to us on brechin.pageant@gmail.com.”
