Johnny does Elvis proud in tribute show
JOHNNY Lee Memphis is set to play Montrose Town Hall on Saturday, September, 15 at 7.30pm - in what promises to be a night to remember.
The incredible show, in association with Montrose Events, sees Johnny make his first ever appearance in Angus, bringing with him the fantastic JLM band featuring the Memphis Belles.
His career started in 2005 entering various Elvis Tribute Artist contests for fun and the love of Elvis. He considers himself very lucky to have achieved recognition as a European finalist for three consecutive years starting in 2008. From his success in reaching the finals of the European Elvis Championships in 2008 Johnny was chosen and he graciously accepted the award for “Best Vegas Elvis 2008” at one of the World’s Largest Elvis Festivals in Porthcawl, South Wales.
In January 2010 he won third place at the European Elvis Championships and in April 2010 won second place at the “Images of the King” regional qualifier.
Johnny’s incredible vocal range, stage presence and likeness to the king earned him the title of World Champion at the Elvis World Cup in Wales in July, 2010, a title which he proudly holds until 2014.
He has the stamp of approval from Charlie Stone, who was Elvis Presley’s tour manager in the 1970’s.

Montrose Events secretary, Tommy Stewart added: “From the minute he walks on stage, his mannerism and interaction with his audience will take your breath away. I have seen many Elvis Tribute acts and Johnny Lee is one of the best i’ve come across.
