MISSION POSSIBLE FOR T IN THE PLOUGH
IT'S certainly been festival weather of late with torrential rain up and down the country.
However, the festival spirit is all set to hit Forfar with T in the Plough on Saturday, July 4 (wellies optional!)
A team from Cancer Research UK's Relay for life in Kirriemuir, called 'Mums on a Mission', have planned an exciting musical event in Forfar in order to raise funds for the event.
On July 4 T in the Plough, obviously playing on the festival theme of T in the Park the following week, promises to be an exciting night of bands, singers and musicians organised to generate funds.
The line-up includes Forfar's own The Trade and Gav Hedge and Kirriemuir's Sonnet 65 and Shawney Henderson.
Team leader Gwen Henderson said: "As Cancer Research UK is such a worthy cause the whole team felt it would be worth going the extra mile to do something really special.
"It's a great time for live music. People are going to watch live bands more than ever now and we have some fantastic local bands at the moment.
"We thought it was a great idea to encourage people to come along and hear them and raise money at the same time. We are very grateful to all the musicians who have agreed to play and to Ian at The Plough. It's thanks to them that we have been able to put all this together."
The team added: "During the night we will also be raffling off two Sunday tickets for T in the Park amongst some other boozy prizes kindly donated by local businesses. It should be a great night so get your tickets quick."
Tickets for T in the Plough are available now in The Plough, Market Street, Forfar and Linda's Shoes, High Street, Kirriemuir at 5 each.
Kirriemuir's Relay for Life event takes place on Saturday, August 22 at the Martin Park, Kirriemuir.
