Next winter lecture

The next instalment in the Black Watch Castle and Museum Winter Lecture Series will take place Tuesday, January 8.

This lecture, on Wellington’s Highlanders, is the third lecture in the third series of Winter Lectures, which will run until March 2013. In this lecture Brigadier Charles Grant will give a lecture on the role of the Highland Regiments under the Duke of Wellington.

Due to the temporary closure of Balhousie Castle, this year’s lectures will be held at Balhousie North Inch House (99 Hay Street, Perth, PH1 5HS).

Other lectures in the programme are as follows:

Tuesday, February 12 at 1.30 p.m. - Black Watch Uniform, Boer War - Present. Major Proctor, Philip and Ruari Halford-McLeod will give a chronological account of the evolution of the uniform worn by The Black Watch during the 20th Century.

Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. - Unseen Paintings and Portraits. Museum Staff will give an illustrated talk about the paintings and portraits that reside with the Battalion in Fort George.
