Plenty on offer at Dundee Rep

BACK DUE to popular demand and for one night only on Saturday, January 26, Dundee Rep Theatre welcomes the talents of some of the UK’s top hip hop and street dance companies for Breakin’ Rules.

They will perform an evening of urban inspired dance floor action. The night promises to provide a variety of style and flavours including break-dance, locking, popping and street along with a special snippet of Scottish Dance Theatre’s new hip hop influences work, Second Coming.

The 2013 season of drama begins on Wednesday, January 30 with the Scottish musical play Five Pound & Twa Bairns, which runs until Friday, February 1.

It tells the story of three women from very different backgrounds and with nothing in common, who become united by the loss of a family member on the tragic night of December 28, 1879.

It was written by Scottish playwright Mike Gibb, whose many musicals and plays on Scottish themes include the like of Mother of All the Peoples, Clarinda and Doorways in Drumorty. Music at the Rep kicks off on Saturday, February 2 with Jive Talkin’ as The Bee Gees Live in Concert. This show unites the UK’s hottest talent for a truly inspiring evening of everything Bee Gees. Never before has there been a more complete Bee Gees experience.

This is followed on Thursday and Friday, February 7 and 8, with An Evening of Dirty Dancing. Have the time of your life with this smash-hit show featuring the hits from the iconic movie, superbly choreographed and presented by a cast of West End stars.
