DUNDEE Rep Ensemble’s first production of 2012 is Steel Magnolias, which runs from Wednesday, February 22 to Saturday, March 10.
This is the beloved account of the lives of six close-knit, gutsy Southern women living in a small-town 80’s America.
The story revolves around Truvy’s beauty shop, where the women regularly meet, sharing everything: laughter, gossip, their problems and their dreams.
A classic film of the last 1980s starring Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts Steel Magnolias was originally written by Robert Harling for his sister and was first staged in New York in 1987.
With a superbly witty script, Steel Magnolias is as hilarious as it is touching.

The Ensemble’s next production is Further Than the Furthest Thing from Tuesday, April 24 to Saturday, May 5.
Set on a remote island in the middle of the Atlantic it tells the story of a small community isolated from the world beyond the ocean.
