The City of Brechin Pipe band travelled to Kinross a week past Saturday for the branch solo piping and drumming contest for the Dundee, Perth and Angus branch.

It proved to be a successful day of competition for the band.

Results for the Brechin Pipe Band players were as follows:-

Drumming on pad – 4, Errine Black, Brechin. 14 years and under drumming – 2, Innes McKay, Montrose.

Sixteen years and under drumming – 3, Allan Hamilton, Brechin; 4, Gregory Hill, By Brechin.

Open Drumming – 2, Colin Ross, Brechin. Novice Tenor - 1, Bethany Guthrie, Kirriemuir; 2, Beth Ritchie, Friockheim.

Eighteen years and under tenor - 1, Robyn Laird, By Forfar; 2, Beth Ritchie; 5, Bethany Guthrie.

Fourteen years and under piping - 2, Liam Donaldson, Kirriemuir. Sixteen years and under piping - 1, Ailis Sutherland, Kirriemuir.

Open Piping - 1, Alec Sutherland, Kirriemuir; 3, Craig Black, Brechin.
