Brechin Acorn Club met on September 16 to start their new session and to celebrate their 30th Anniversary.
President Anne Mitchell welcomed members and hoped everyone would have a most enjoyable afternoon.
The speaker was Joe Wishart, who spoke about his experiences in Montrose Opera. In his own inimitable style Joe kept members entertained with anecdotes about his stay in ‘The Mud House’, which he will soon be leaving, and the feelings of auditions, taking part and friendships made during his time on stage. Members gave him a great ovation at the end of the talk.
Anne then invited May Henderson and Muriel Wyse to cut the celebratory cake. Both of these ladies are original members. Celebrations continued on September 23 with a trip to The Retreat for another afternoon tea. A club spokesperson said: “The weather was perfect, sunny and pretty warm. A big thank you to Allan and his staff for all the goodies they provided.”
