After hard training sessions and a selection process four young Cadets from 2365 (Brechin) Squadron Air training Corp have been selected to join the North East Scotland Wings Junior Boys Football team.
The team is made up of Cadets aged 13 to 15-years-old from Squadrons covering the whole of Angus and Aberdeenshire.
The Squadron’s Commanding Officer, Pilot Officer Craig Stoker said: “It is not an easy thing to be selected for this team, so to get four of them on the team is fantastic, and is made even better that we are providing the goalkeeper. The ‘keeper has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders for a cadet of his age and at this level of competition, but being an Air Cadet from Brechin I’m sure he will cope admirably.”
The Cadets will be taking part in the Inter Wing competition at the end of the month and will play against teams from the Highlands, South East Scotland and South West Scotland and Northern Ireland.
If you are aged between 12 and 17-years-old and would like to become a Cadet (male or female) then why not visit on line at firstname.lastname@example.org or search on Facebook, or visit the Cadet building on Commerce Street during parade nights held on a Tuesday and Thursday nights between 7 and 8.30 p.m.
The Cadets are in great need of adult volunteers (no experience needed) to help in a variety of roles.
