THE LAST meeting of the autumn term for Brechin Probus Club took place in the Northern Hotel on Tuesday, November 28, with vice-chairman Bob Berrie presiding.

In his opening remarks, Bob drew the members’ attention to the fact that Jim Turriff and his wife had recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary and this was met by a round of applause. Bob then intimated that sadly, due to personal reasons, chairman Hector Masterton has tendered his resignation, and that because of ill health it is thought Bob Moore may not be back. The membership conveys their best wishes to them, and both were thanked for their personal contributions to the club.

The speaker for the morning was Dr Elsie Andrews who spoke on the holiday she and her husband, Dr Mike Andrews, recently spent on the south coast of Turkey. During their trip they studied the indigenous fauna, accompanied by botanist Alan Harrington.

Charlie Simpson gave a vote of thanks.
