BRECHIN Ramblers’ latest walk was on Saturday, February 5, starting from West Woods of Ethie, near Tarriebank on the A92 main coast road, north of Arbroath.
It was a good day out for the third walk of the year, with no rain and even a little sunshine.
The first part of the walk was a short meander through the woods, where there were several other walkers around, most with dogs which expressed their delight by wagging their tails in the expectation of so many ‘pats’ coming their way.
A short coffee break was taken before leaving the woods to continue along tracks past West Mains of Auchmithie and Windyhills to reach Auchmithie.
After strolling through the village, past what was thought to be a disused water tower, a lovely lunch spot was found overlooking the harbour.
The walk continued along good tracks past Boghead, with excellent views over to Ethie Castle and beyond.
After a short stretch on a quiet minor road, a farm track led from Rosehill back to the woods to complete a very pleasant seven-mile walk.
On Saturday, February 19, Brechin Ramblers have level coastal walk from Inverbervie to Johnshaven and back.
The full walk is seven miles but this can be shortened at any point.
Visitors are very welcome and anyone interested in coming along should contact the walk leader on 01356 622327.
