BRECHIN Rotary Club held its annual general meeting at the Caledonian Hotel.
President Paul Roberts gave details of projects recently completed, and also gave intimation of up and coming events and projects for the club.
He said the club will be involved with the Inner Wheel and the Cathedral in running a charity shop in Brechin in May.
There will also be a fund-raising race night at the Parkview Bowling Club on May 11.
Some of the other plans for the near future include hosting the area Primary School Quiz competition, supporting the Aquabox charity, running a musician of the year competition, holding a stroke awareness day and having the inevitable annual Rotary Quiz night which will be at the Caledonian Hotel on July 30.
At the meeting the club presented a cheque for £573.81 to Jim Bell and Paul Smith of the level 8 charity, which is based in Carnoustie.
Level 8 was founded in 2009 and focuses on the prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of education and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
The money was raised at the Rotary Club’s recent ceilidh and will go towards a project in Rwanda, which is aiming to set up a music centre in the area.
