Brechin Rotary Club met at the Caledonian Hotel in Brechin for their annual Club Assembly, in lieu of their usual meeting.
During the evening, incoming vice president John Cavanagh commented on a very successful year for the club under the present president, Steve Collis.
In particular, John highlighted the major fundraising for a new Mary’s Meals kitchen in Malawi and for Shelterboxes following earthquakes in Nepal.
John also outlined an exciting year ahead with many projects, some established and some new, building on the club’s achievements over the last few years.
Also attending last week’s assembly meeting was assistant Rotary Assistant District Governor Sandra Bartram, who is from Laurencekirk.
Sandra commended the club for an ambitious and appropriate programme, reflecting on the work of individual clubs, like Brechin, that enable Rotary to be such a force throughout the world.
Brechin Rotary Club also recently held their annual duck race. Turn to page 11 for more.
