THE Brechin branch of the SNP has expressed its delight over what turned out to be a record breaking pre-Christmas craft fayre on Saturday.
The annual SNP organised event, which extended its opening hours for the first time this year, recorded its highest ever attendance as hundreds of people packed into the City Hall to view the produce of local retailers and crafters.
Branch treasurer David Smart said: “I’m delighted that this year’s pre-Christmas craft fayre has been such a success. Over the last few years this event has gone from strength to strength, to such an extent that this year the branch decided to extend the opening hours to accommodate an ever increasing number of visitors.”
Councillor Mairi Evans added: “Special praise must go to the retailers and crafters without whom this event wouldn’t be possible. Angus has a thriving crafter community and each year our Fayre showcases this outstanding talent to a growing number of people.
“From jam and chutney making to pyrography, there are some extremely creative people in the Angus, and the ever increasing number of visitors to our annual pre-Christmas craft fayre is testament to the esteem which locals hold their talents.”
