Celebrating 25 years of the Guild at Edzell event

TO celebrate the visit from the moderator of the Church of Scotland on Sunday, April 29, Edzell Guild hosted a bring-your-own-picnic for Angus West and East Guilds.

The Right Rev. David Arnott and his wife Rosemary cut the cake to celebrate 25 years of the Guild.

After tea they all joined in the Church service where Reverend David Gray welcomed everyone.

Mary Reid, convener of Angus West, led the service with readings, prayers and hymns.

The moderator then told of all his visits during the past year which took him to Pakistan, Gaza, China and Afghanistan.

He and his wife spent the past week in and around Angus and in his last two weeks of being moderator he will visit Rome.

The Guild felt privileged to hear about the work of the moderator with Mary Collcott, convener for Angus East, remarking about it in her vote of thanks. She also thanked Angus West for arranging the day and to Edzell Guild for their hospitality.

An offering was taken at the service and will be given to the new projects that will be announced soon.
